In Essex County records, Job Meador is mentioned only in the
will of his father in 1721. In this will, he is named as
one of the youngest sons of (3) John, and "to be of age at
seventeen, and I do leave my son Jonas Meador to llk after
them three years". The wording of this will has caused many
to regard these two sons as twins, between 14 and 17 years
of age. Probably they were close to 17, as Job and Jason
were named co-executors of their father's will, an unlikely

his father, but the disposal is not of record. Nor does his
name appear in the records of any of the counties presently

branch of the Meador family. It has been suggested that his
is the Job Meador found in 1728 in Chowan County, North
Carolina, but since the authors have accomplished no
research in this area, this cannot be verified. This would,
however, appear to be an early age for such an extreme
