From the Mills County Tribune:
Among the sad deaths the Tribune has to chronicle this week is that of
Mrs. Nellie McGarry, wife of Thos. G. McGarry of the West Liberty
neighborhood north of Glenwood.
She passed away Saturday night at 10:15 after more than two weeks of
great suffering from blood poisoning. She paid the exterme price of
motherhood and an infant daughter survives her.
The deceased was nearly 32 years old, having been born Sept 18, 1875.
She had always lived in the West Liberty locality and was beloved by
all who knew her. She was the youngest daughter of Mrs. Kate Meadows
who died several years ago.
She was united in marriage March 29, 1899, to Mr. McGarry who survives
her. A little son, aged 7, is also left motherless in addition to the
two weeks-old infant. She is also survived by an only sister, Mrs.
Will Rowe.
The funeral was held Monday morning in the West Liberty Methodist
church of which the deceased was a faithful worker and member. It was
in charge of the pastor, Rev. E. E. Goodrich, and was attended by a
large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
The music was rendered by a male quartet from Glenwood consisting of W.
H. Byers, L.A. Bower, C.P. Hale and C. R. Buffington. The pall
bearers were all cousins of the deceased.
The husband has the sympathy of the community in his great bereavemen
