Ealdbald succeeded his successful father, Aethelberht, as King of Kent.
He remained pagan through the reign of his father, and when his father
died he followed the custom of marrying his father's widow, in this
case, his own mother. He was finally converted by Archbishop
Laurentius of Canterbury.
uring his reign, Eadbald arranged the marriage of his sister to King
edwin of Northumbria, ceased to live with his mother as husband and
wife, and married the Frankish Princess, Emma. When he died in 640, he
was succeeded by his son Erkenber

Married Willie Mary Durant of Illinois. He was a farmer until 1907,
when he removed to Tampa and engaged in the grocery business. In 1913
he formed the firm of the Knight Grocery Company. He was a member of
the First Baptist Church of Tampa. They had no childr
