Virtually nothing is known of Hope Meador. That he was a
son of (3) John Meador by his first wife is determined by
his mention in the deed of gift by his father in 16941 . In
this deed he was given a major portion of his father's
lands, the 150 acres on the east side adjoining the 320-acre
grant lands. But Hope died before his father (date
unknown), apparently unmarried, and the land reverted to
John to be reassigned. Seemingly it was given to the oldest
brother, (4) Richard Meador. No deeds have been found in
confirmation, but the oldest son of Richard, who was (5)
William Meador, sold the 150 acres to Henry Reeves (III) in
1728 . The property never again was in the possession of
the Meador family.
