Smuggled out of the Tower of London after his birth by Adam Orleton,
Bishop of Worcester. He was fostered in Worcester, and undoubtedly
never told of his parentage.
ccording to the French chronicler, Froissart, Isabella was pregnant in
1330 when Mortimer was executed. However, the evidence is that the
child was conceived and born in the Tower of London during the year
that both Isabella and Mortimer were in residence. Nevertheless, it
seems to have been generally known that there was a child of this union.
s soon as she had recovered from this birth, Isabella fled to France,
taking her eldest son, the heir to the throne with her.
e was given the name "Knyght" by his mother, who pleaded for his
father's life with the words: "Now, fair sirs, I pray you that you do
no harm to his body, for he is a worthy knight, our well-beloved friend
and our dear cousi

Esther (Hester) Meador was the last child of Elizabeth
White, first wife of (3) John Meador, so she, too was born
before 1694. In the deed of gift by her father in 1694 she
was given half the lands of her grandfather, Richard White
on the north side of Hoskins Creek. However, all of the
White plantation seemingly ended up in the possession of her
oldest brother, Richard. In 1709, about the time of
Esther's marriage to William Bourne, Richard leased the land
back to the couple for a "yearly rent of on fatt capon on
Xmas day, if demanded" .
illiam and Esther Bourne had but one child of record, (5)
John Bourne. John died in 1747, and in his will names a
wife, Leah, and two cousins (Thomas Bourne Jr. and Ann
Bourne, wife of (5) Thomas Meador), but no children . So
it would appear that Esther left no further descendants.
sther died before her father's death in 1721, as she is not
mentioned in his will. William Bourne died in 1739, and his
will names a second wife, Elizabeth, but only the son of his
first marriage, John Bourne . There were no living
descendants of the family, and nothing more is known of
them.
illiam Bourne assigned whatever rights to the property
given to Esther to (5) Richard Meador in 1738 , and Richard
then sold the property to (5) John Bourne, which deed is not
of record. (5) William Meador, brother of Richard, also
assigned his rights to John Bourne . At this time, it was
supposed to be 100 acres. The disposal of this property by
John Bourne is unknown, but apparently another piece of
"Meador land" soon passed forever from Meador possessi

Was a General in the Army who had served with distinction in the Seven
Years' War in Germany, and also in the American War of Independence.
During the great French war, when Napoleon threatened invasion, he
raised a regiment of 1500 men from his tenantry, formed into three
corps of riflemen, cavalry and artillery. The Constable's Tower was
used as an armoury and forge for this force, whose arms were afterwards
stored there. The 7th Duke removed the greater part of these to the
entrance hall of the Castle, but some of their implements still remain
